Celebrate the heart and heritage of Slane this Saturday 15th August as Slane Castle welcomes the local community for a special Lady Well Day celebration.
Follow the woodland walking trail to the historic Lady Well, a place of pilgrimage and tradition for generations. Bring along a picnic and relax on the castle lawns while enjoying a day dedicated to community, history and local traditions. Guests can explore the Castle with complimentary ground floor mini tours and celebrate the estate’s rich heritage, including 45 years of legendary concerts at Slane Castle. This weekend marks the 45th anniversary of the very first Slane concert, when Thin Lizzy took to the stage in 1981, beginning a musical legacy that continues to this day. The wonderful Inspire Choir will provide a live performance, at 7pm, Brownes Bar will be open from 5pm with a BBQ in the Castle Courtyard adding to the atmosphere. As this is a popular community event, free parking is available but must be booked in advance. Join us for a memorable day celebrating the people, heritage and traditions that make Slane so special.
