#SlaneRocks – Return of Rock LIVE at Slane Castle

Rock returns to Slane Castle on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th September with two outstanding tribute bands venerating iconic acts from past gigs. Star act on Saturday is Live Forever, the definitive tribute to Manchester super group Oasis who played at Slane twice, supporting REM in 1995 and topping the bill in 2009. On Sunday the headliners are Thin Az Lizzy set to deliver an explosive night of electrifying classic rock anthems like their set at the very first concert in 1981 supported by a fledgling U2. A smokin’ hot BBQ with the best of local produce will ensure hunger pangs are kept at bay. Slane Whiskey Cocktails are a must to stay in the groove. The gates open at 2 pm and bars serve until the last notes sound when everyone is dancing in the moonlight.
Thin Lizzy have a special place in history as Slane rock legends, they were the headline act at the very first concert in 1981 supported by a fledgling U2. Oasis cemented their Slane connection by using an image of the band at the stone steps to the rear of the Castle as a striking album cover.
