We’d love to welcome you to Slane Castle Estate for your wedding celebrations and we can host everything from ceremony, photographs and banquet to breakfast the next day. We’re hosting a Wedding Showcase on Sunday 2nd July from 11am to 6pm. This is a rare occasion to view the magnificent rooms and talk to our experienced wedding team while sipping a glass of bubbly. According to the Central Statistics Office, non-church marriages now account for more than a third of all weddings. We’ve noticed marked interest in ceremonies taking place here on Slane Castle Estate. We’ve several different options for couples, both indoor and outdoor.
The King George IV Ballroom is particularly popular, and no wonder – it’s truly a marvellous room and one of the finest examples of neo-gothic architecture in the entire country. It’s a circular room with perfect acoustics and a spectacular ornate ceiling and is ideal for an intimate meal. Originally designed by Thomas Hopper as a library, the tall windows allow sunlight to pour through, highlighting the splendour within – including your wedding dress.
We specialise in intimate weddings for 15-60 people but we can host bigger parties in an elegant marquee in the Castle Courtyard. The Castle has proved a popular destination venue with couples from the USA and online wedding showarounds are offered to facilitate those making plans from abroad.
Every wedding at Slane Castle is bespoke and the venue offers many different alternatives for receptions, dining and socialising so you can choose whatever suits you best. The Castle hosts civil ceremonies, humanist blessings and multi-denominational partnership celebrations so your entire day can take place without leaving the estate.
Wedding couples often stay for a couple of nights, enjoying the regal surroundings on their pre-wedding night. Slane Castle currently has five luxury double bedrooms and plans are afoot to double this number. Expect four-poster beds, sumptuous furnishing and incomparable views. The names of our rooms hint at stories and even delicious scandal … The King’s Room, The Earl & Countess…
Needless to say, Slane Castle Estate is a wedding photographer’s dream at any time of year. You’ll be spoilt for choice deciding on your backdrops. The Castle, the mature woodlands, the River Boyne or perhaps one of the courtyards or for something quite different, Slane Distillery.

Slane Castle creates bespoke menus to meet each wedding couple’s requirements. The focus is on delicious seasonal, local and artisan ingredients, using their own organic Rock Farm produce where possible.
