New at Slane Castle this autumn, Brunch at Browne’s Bar is THE place to be on Saturday and Sundays in the Boyne Valley. Perfect for a get together of family or friends.

Browne's Bar at Slane Castle

We are open Saturday and Sunday 11-4p.m.

Organic sausages and eggs from Rock Farm on the Slane Castle Estate are key components of the Slane sambo served on a brioche bun. Other options include a tempting buttermilk chicken waffle with crispy smoked bacon and egg, poached eggs with smashed avocado and the perennial favourite – fluffy homemade pancakes with berries and maple syrup. All the eggs are organic from the free range hens just across the river Boyne on Rock Farm.

Make it a special brunch with the addition of a Browne’s Bellini, a traditional Bloody Mary or a Boyne Fizz cocktail featuring Slane Whiskey from the estate distillery. Or make a day of it and enjoy brunch before or after a guided tour of the historic Castle. Tours take place at 12 noon and 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

There’s nowhere else quite like Browne’s Bar, a cosy room named after the Castle housekeeper, Mary Browne. The bar boasts a fascinating Slane rock concert theme and the memorabilia from 40 years of high profile rock concerts make mesmerising reading. If these walls could talk, they’d tell some stories. It’s no stranger to great live music and jazz sessions into the wee small hours and is available for private functions.
Walk in customers are welcome but places are limited and groups of four or more should pre-book by email events@slanecastle.ie. Remember it’s brunch o’clock every weekend at Browne’s Bar in Slane Castle.
