How would you like a personal tour of Slane Castle and Distillery with Alex Conyngham, the Earl of Mount Charles? Well, here’s some good news – you can do just that if you act quickly. Alex is hosting just two tours between now and Christmas: Saturday 6th November and Saturday 4th December. Could be the perfect early Christmas present for someone special.
Alex is the son of Lord Henry, who was responsible for the rock concerts which put Slane Castle on the worldwide map. During the VIP tour, Alex will share stories about what it’s like to not only grow up and live in Slane Castle, but what it’s like to have a massive rock concert, featuring the world’s biggest rock stars, in the front garden every year.
The VIP tour starts with a check in at Slane Distillery before taking the short walk through the Courtyard to Slane Castle and a chance to meet Alex over a welcome Slane Whiskey drink in the elegant Drawing Room. Alex will then bring his guests on a tour of the ground floor of the Castle, sharing memories and anecdotes in every room. Following this, it’s back to the Distillery for a fascinating behind-the-scenes tour and insight into the story of Slane Whiskey. What was once a disused stable yard is now a world class visitor centre and working distillery. The tour concludes with a deconstructed Slane Irish Whiskey tasting including four whiskeys and a very special sample of our New Make Single Pot Still Whiskey.
