Exclusive opportunity to stay at Slane Castle

Posted on 19th June 2023

How would you like to stay at Slane Castle with a group of your besties with no other guests? Well, now you can, with our new Castle Collection experience on Friday 30th June and Saturday 1st July. Think four poster beds, luxury furnishings, incomparable history and stunning views across the River Boyne and over the 1500 acre estate.

You’ll be following in the footsteps of some real royalty like King George IV and rock royalty too – U2, the Rolling Stones and many others stayed in Slane Castle. One of the magnificent bedrooms is called The King’s Room and the George IV Ballroom is named after him – it was completed in time for his visit in 1821.

Slane Castle is a family house and has been home to the Conyngham family since 1703; the Earl and Countess live on the upper floors with their family. It’s not a hotel so you won’t find facilities like room service or a concierge. Instead you will get the incredible authentic experience of staying in one of Ireland’s precious Castles steeped in history and mystique.

Here’s how it works:

Your group must be a minimum of six people staying in three double rooms. The maximum size is ten people, occupying all five double rooms.

We know you’ll want to explore the Estate so we’re offering an early 3pm check in to give you lots of time. Breakfast can be a leisurely event too with an 11am checkout. It’s a light continental-style repast available from the Silver Fox Food Truck in the Castle Courtyard.

We can recommend excellent local dining options in Slane Village at Inside Out, in Chapel Street, or the Conyngham Arms Restaurant, in Main Street.  Alternatively, you can take advantage of the Lord Lieutenant’s Room to enjoy a takeaway.  This room has tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge. The Lord Lieutenant’s Room is on the same floor as the bedrooms.
