Slane Castle, in the heart of the Boyne Valley, is proud to introduce a new Afternoon Tea Experience combining a miniature guided tour with the grand tradition of afternoon tea and the modern addition of a glass of fizz.
Afternoon Tea at Slane Castle
Guests are welcomed in the impressive main hallway with its imposing fireplaces, fine Doric columns and magnificent plasterwork. The personable tour guide Tina will bring you into the King George IV Ballroom to enjoy a glass of Prosecco while hearing about this truly remarkable circular room which is one of the finest examples of neo-gothic architecture in the entire country.
Then it’s down to the Gandon Room, by way of time-honoured stairs giving a glimpse of another side of this magnificent building. The Gandon Room is designed in a warm, inviting club style, ideal for groups of all sizes from two upwards, to enjoy a gracious afternoon tea.
Presented on elegant three-tiered cake stands this delectable combination of savoury and sweet treats is fit indeed for the queen who once graced these hallowed walls with her presence.
